The Cloud 9 Soaring Center at the Point of the Mountain

Directions To The Point Of The Mountain: We normally fly the South side in the morning and Norh side in the evenings, check the wind direction or call Cloud 9

North Side
Take I-15 South of Salt Lake City, UT and exit going North off the Bluffdale exit (#288). Go left (east) and then go straight through the stop sign. Take your first right on Traverse Ridge Rd. (by the gas station) Then take second right up Steep Mountain Dr. Follow through new housing tract until the road turns into dirt. The first area is the Hang Glider ste up area, the next two dirt runways are the paragliding launches. Welcome to the North Side. DO NOT SPEED IN THE NEIGHBORHOOD, WE COULD LOSE ACCESS! The road up to the 3/4 launch is open but you need to contact Cloud 9 for the combination to the gate. Please close the gate EACH time you go up to the launch.

South Side
Take I-15 South of Salt Lake City, UT for 12 miles to the Bluffdale exit (#288 you will see a prison to the west). go left (east) under highway and take a right on the frontage road which is called Minute Man Drive. Follow it South for 2.5 miles to the sharp left bend in the road. There is a sign for "Point Of The Mountain Flight Park". Go left at the sign on a dirt road. Follow it to the right, past the landing area and continue up and to the left to get to the launch. Once on the bench, take a left into the parking area. The road is dirt but in great shape. WE CAN NO LONGER DRIVE BETWEEN THE N. AND S. SIDE, HAVE TO GO AROUND.

To get to the Cloud 9 Soaring Center:

I-15 to the Draper/Riverton Exit (#291) or 12300 South, also known as Draper Parkway. Go east to the first stoplight and go right on Minuteman Drive 1/4 mile. You will see Cloud 9 with a huge windsock on the roof and a hang glider parked on the lawn. Our number is 801-576-6460 or the cell is 801-910-1109
